Healthy Savannah
Healthy Savannah is a non-profit focusing on improving healthcare access and health equity to low wealth African Americans in the Savannah Community. For this project I helped design a strategy to strengthen the mission of Healthy Savannah and incorporate the REACH grant awarded from the CDC. We designed a “Little Free Library” named Neighborhood Hero. This became a resource hub for community members. The Neighborhood Hero contains books, information on community events, health and a community recipe book. It reinforces Health Savannah’s mission along with their Website “HERO” and helps create community connectivity.
Neighborhood Hero.
Health Equity means, everyone should have the opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Inequity develops when barriers prevent individuals and communities from reaching their full potential.
We partnered with Healthy Savannah, providing diverse design knowledge, research capabilities, and people power to raise awareness, highlight value, and strengthen the impact of the HERO database initiative for the priority stakeholders: African Americans of low wealth in Savannah.
